Congressional Black Caucus “Time For Change Tour”
Rallies Voters In OH, NJ, MD

Washington, D.C. – In the final stretch before mid-term elections, a delegation of Congressional Black Caucus members rallied African American voters in Ohio, New Jersey and Maryland as part of the CBC Time For Change Tour, October 27-29.
 
Sponsored by the Congressional Black Caucus Political Action Committee (CBC PAC), the Time For Change Tour traveled to some of the nation’s tightest House and Senate races with the message “Democratic Leadership For A New Direction.”  
 
Tour participants included CBC PAC Chairman Albert Wynn (MD), CBC Chairman Mel Watt (NC), House Democratic Caucus Chair James Clyburn (SC), and Reps. Stephanie Tubbs-Jones (OH), Donald Payne (NJ), Elijah Cummings (MD), Gregory Meeks (NY), and G.K Butterfield (NC).

Additionally Star Jones Reynolds, television personality, prominent attorney, writer and social activist traveled with the CBC and supported events in each state.

In Ohio, the first leg of the Time For Change Tour, CBC members boarded an election express bus in Youngstown and Cleveland, and supported voter rallies with seniors, labor and students with Senate candidate Rep. Sherrod Brown and gubernatorial candidate Rep. Ted Strickland.
 
On the second leg in New Jersey, CBC members hit the campaign trail with Senator Robert Menendez in Newark, Trenton and East Orange.  They were joined by New Jersey Governor Jon Corzine.
 
The tour concluded in Maryland with a full-day of voter outreach in Baltimore, Montgomery County and Prince George’s County with candidate for Lt. Governor Anthony Brown, gubernatorial candidate Baltimore Mayor Martin O’Malley, Senate candidate Rep. Ben Cardin along with other statewide candidates. (Full schedule of tour events listed below.)
